About Dr. Ted

Background:

When Dr. Ted was ten years old he had a bicycle accident. In addition to a big, fat lip, he broke his front tooth. He had only half a tooth and it made him reluctant to smile. Finally, at age 13 his dentist said it could be fixed. It took several appointments, but when the crown was finished he looked in the mirror and suddenly had the biggest, broadest smile. It was at that moment that he set his sights on being a dentist.

Dr. Ted studied psychology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. When he graduated from college he went right to dental school in Buffalo. Four years later, he earned his D.D.S. degree and was finally a dentist. But, his studies weren't over. He joined the United States Air Force and served as a dentist to the student pilots at Moody Air Force base in Valdosta, Georgia. It was good to get out of the Buffalo cold. Ted and his wife, Judy, liked Georgia and decided to stay. However, there would be one more addition to his education. He remembered his bicycle accident and knew that there were dentists specially trained to help children. He moved to Augusta, Georgia to do a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry. It was there that he combined his background in psychology and dentistry with the latest techniques for taking care of children. Finally, his long education was complete and he opened his office in Smyrna, Georgia.
